Movie based on the Love bug (Loveletter/ILoveYou) virii screening the 30th of April in California, U.S
So, almost 11 years later a movie is about to screen at the New Port film festival in California (http://www.newportbeachfilmfest.com/2011/).
The movie "Subject: I Love you" claims to be "inspired" by the ILoveYou/Loveletter virus. I was excited when I learned about the movie screening since the components
of an advanced computer worm/virus and the heartbreaking hunt for a loved has the potential of becoming a blockbuster.
Also, I'm interested in watching the movie because I was providing the FBI with information about who was behind the Love Letter / ILoveYou malware.
We worked two seperate threads, me and the special agents at the FBI and kept in telephone/e-mail contact during the process and it turned out that we both arrived at the same
conclusion about who authored the malware. My route to the information was extracting metadata as well as the actual macro-language from the word-document and analyzing everything from
interesting strings to variable-names, coding style etc.
Anyways, here are some re-cap links of the investigation and my participation in it:
And here is the trailer for the new movie "Subject: I Love you" which is screening at New Port Film festival April the 30th
